On June 15, China Haisum held a lean management kick-off meeting at Shanghai headquarters. It was held by Chen Zhiming, Vice President of China Haisum and attended by over 200 participants, including Zhao Guoang, Chief Economic Manager of Sinolight Corporation of Poly Group, and Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of China Haisum, Chen Rongrong, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of Haisum, members of lean management leading group, Lean Management Office, members of the research group, lean management leading group of each business unit and related personnel. The meeting was convened on live and via online video according to the requirements for COVID-19 prevention and control.
At the meeting, Xu Yongmin, General Manager of Strategic Operation Center and Director of Lean Management Office, publicized the Work Plan for Lean Management, reported the progress of lean management, and deployed key tasks and requirements for the next stage in detail. Subordinate business units reported and communicated their lean management action plans from five aspects of cost reduction, value creation, efficiency improvement, lean culture cultivation and lean talent cultivation respectively.
At the meeting, the leading team members shared their learning experience in lean management and proposed work requirements.
Chen Rongrong put forward specific requirements for operation, management and technical lean management as follows, to highlight the core business innovation and layout in terms of operation, take the initiative to find gaps, tap potential and increase efficiency in terms of management, and implement quality standardization and professional positive coordination in technical aspect. All work should be put into practice in a way transformed from traditional to digital, and all personnel shall develop a habit of lean thinking to improve efficiency, improve quality and reduce costs.
At the end of the meeting, Zhao Guoang made a summary speech.
He stressed that the comprehensive promotion of lean management is an effective means for the high-quality development of the Company and a significant step to implement the Company's "lean year" in response to the requirements of the groups at two levels. The core concept of lean management is "value creation, waste elimination and continuous improvement", and its purpose of pursuing "less resource consumption, high efficiency and great value" is completely consistent with the initial intention of the Company in the organizational reform and management improvement this time. Lean management should be regarded as a major strategic measure to implement the "pursuit of excellence" process of the groups at two levels, and as the internal demand to achieve high-quality development in the future.
Zhao Guoang made an in-depth analysis of eight possible phenomena of waste in the Company and put forward three specific requirements for lean management:
I. Strengthen the awareness. He clarified the requirements of the groups at two levels again, and recognized the significance of lean management for the long-term development of the Company and enterprises at all levels. He said that we should focus on innovation and efficiency creation, and attach great importance to the combination of lean management, the high-quality development of the Company and reaching standard first-class management, so as to truly realize "transformations in five aspects".
II. Attach great importance to thinking. Lean management is the inherent requirement of development. Implementing lean management is to deepen, improve, innovate and integrate the original management process. The thinking of lean management must penetrate into daily management to achieve lean production, operation, management, innovation and other aspects. It is necessary to build the lean value chain of the Company, improve the market competitiveness of the main business, establish a perfect supporting guarantee mechanism, and promote lean management to become the internal impetus of the development of the Company.
III. Be practical and promote works. Lean management action plans shall be implemented instead of just saying. Lean management promotion is not just for the management level or some department but requires the participation of all the staff. Everyone needs to change their working mindset and habits. To adhere to "orientation by problems, goals and results", it shall be implemented in stages "from dots to lines, from lines to planes, and from planes to the whole". We shall strive to create a lean culture of "implementing lean management anytime, anywhere for anything by anyone", and persevere in building a lean management system with characteristics of Haisum that meets the needs of the Company.
At this kick-off meeting, the concept of lean management and the action plan of lean management were clarified again, which helped the Company to further promote and shape the lean management system, and laid a more solid foundation for the implementation of the Company's work deployment of the "Lean Year", continuous improvement of efficiency, cost reduction, and management optimization.
